The gift of reflection

BrainRx Philippines

In this Christmas newsletter, we'd like to share two things:

First, this article on Esther Wojcicki.

This celebrated educator, mother, grandmother has three highly successful daughters in a male-dominated world--the CEO of Youtube, a professor of pediatrics, and the CEO/ co-founder of 23 & Me.

In a nutshell, she talks about the importance of raising children who are kind, involved in the community, and have a sense of service and purpose. The motherly wisdom she shares is timeless, and applies across all backgrounds and cultures. It's good to be reminded when we (and our children) become so caught up in our daily tasks. Do read the article or for a longer read, her book 'How to Raise Successful People: Simple Lessons for Radical Results'.

Secondly, reflection is key in helping our students and our team improve.

We are not afraid to admit mistakes... we look at mistakes as a learning tool.

We are not afraid to try new things out... and to admit if they don't work out!

We ask our students: How was your effort level today? What do you think worked? How can you do this better?

We ask ourselves: What worked? How can we make this better? How can I be a better trainer for my student? How else can we help this student?
